Tongue-and-groove jacking concrete pipes are high-strength reinforced pipes installed by the pipe-jacking method, especially for crossings beneath roads, railways, buildings and rivers. The method lays the line with minimum surface disturbance and no open trench.

What Are Jacking Pipes?

Jacking pipes have a flared tongue on one end and a groove on the other. The joint geometry transfers thrust loads cleanly along the pipe axis and creates a leak-tight system along the run.

Application Areas

  • Crossings under roads and railways: Pipe-laying without traffic interruption.
  • Urban infrastructure renewal: Avoids open-cut excavation.
  • Industrial sites: Crossings without damage to the surface structure.
  • Drainage projects: Durable conveyance lines for water redirection.

Advantages

  • High strength: Withstands axial jacking loads.
  • Easy jointing: Tongue-and-groove allows fast on-site laying.
  • Leak-tightness: Critical for groundwater quality and line safety.
  • Long service life: Decades of resistance to external impact.
  • Eco-friendly: Concrete is recyclable.

Installation Notes

Pipe-jacking requires a trained crew and dedicated equipment. Thrust must be applied evenly along the axis and calculated against the geometric tolerance of the pipe.
